Annatina has been working at Bannermans since May 2011.

Since joining Bannermans, Annatina practices mainly in the New South Wales Supreme Courts, the District Court, and the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and is an integral part of the Construction, Insurance and Strata teams. She acts for various parties in building defects litigation, strata disputes, insurance claims and commercial claims involving owners corporations, lot owners, strata managers insurers and builders. She also regularly attends mediations and informal settlement conferences, appears at hearings and appeals and instructs counsel at large District and Supreme Court hearings.

As part of her practice, she has extensive expertise in all aspects of:

  • Advising strata schemes, insurers and building professionals in all aspects of home owners warranty and building defects claims
  • Providing policy advice and acting on behalf of insurance companies in relation to strata insurance and home owners warranty insurance policies
  • Advising insurers on policy coverage and claims liability
  • Advising lot owners and strata schemes in relation to various strata disputes including, compulsory appointments of strata managers, tree disputes, boundary disputes, change of unit entitlements, damages arising for repair and maintenance of common property and general disputes in strata

Before joining Bannermans Annatina worked at a mid-tier firm as a solicitor acting on behalf of a diverse range of clients in litigation in the New South Wales Supreme, District and Local Courts and the Federal Court of Australia including:

  • Acting for creditors and administrators and liquidators in wind up proceedings
  • Acting for employees of an insolvent company in relation to recovery of employee entitlements
  • Advising on issues of bankruptcy
  • Acting for a director in relation to insolvent trading
  • Acting for individuals and companies in relation to creditors statutory demands
  • Acting for franchisees in their claim against a financial institution in relation to misleading and deceptive conduct and unconscionable conduct under the Trade Practices Act 1974, breaches of fiduciary duty and breaches of contract
  • Acting for and advising private and commercial clients in relation to general commercial litigation
